Almaden Youth Basketball annual calendar runs from September 1st (current year) to Aug 31st (following year).
Following are the Age and Grade eligibility requirements to be used throughout the 2025-2026 season
Team Organization
- All Competitive teams (10U/4th grade to High School):
- Majority of team MUST abide by Age policy
- Maximum 2 players are allowed to use Grade policy exception
- Winter Divisional and Rookie recreational teams (1st Grade to 8th Grade)
- Division 1 - only 7th and 8th Grade Policy applies
- Division 2 - only 5th and 6th Grade Policy applies
- Division 3 - only 3rd and 4th Grade Policy applies
- Rookie - only 1st and 2nd Grade Policy applies
- Athlete MUST play in the Division that corresponds to their grade
Player Eligibility Requirements
7U/1st Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 7 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 1st Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 8 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
8U/2nd Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 8 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 2nd Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 9 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
9U/3rd Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 3rd Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 10 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
10U/4th Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 4th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 11 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
11U/5th Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 5th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 12 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
12U/6th Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 6th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 13 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
13U/7th Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 7th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 14 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
14U/8th Grade | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 8th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 15 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
15U/9th Grade High School | AGE | An athlete can be no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2026 |
GRADE | An athlete who is in the 9th Grade as of Oct 1, 2025 and who is no older than 16 on or before Aug 31, 2026 |
H.S. Team | Athlete CAN NOT play on BOTH a High School team AND competitive club team at same time |
